MERSEYSIDE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS – DIVISIONS 1 & 2 – 2012-2013

The club plays at the Aigburth Cricket Club, Southwood Road, St Michaels, Liverpool, L17 7BQ which is next to St Michaels Train Station and is close to Lark Lane and Aigburth Vale.

There is a map on the Contact page. We are also not far from University Halls of Residence Carnatic and I.M Marsh.

Our new venue is Aigburth Cricket Club, Southwood Road.

Not to be confused with Liverpool Cricket Club on Aigburth Road!

Our club night is Wednesday and we start at about 7.30 pm.
The competitive season runs from September to April but members meet to play through the summer.

Please note juniors are not allowed into the Member's Bar but are welcome in the playing room.

Excellent win for 4th team

The 4th Team picked up a impressive win last week with a 5-1 win over Formby 3.  Phil Lavin impressed by holding his highly graded opponent on Board 1 with black, while Will, Filip, Bill and Alan all scored wins. Neil T also continued his positive results with a draw on board 6.

Our Fourth Team have picked up a win in Division 4 beating Atticus 5 by a score of 5-1. Phil, Filip, Alan and Neil all won while Will and Bill drew.

Wins for Third and Fifth teams

It was a good night on Wednesday for Aigburth as both the 3rd and 5th teams picked up wins. In Division 3 the 3rd team ran out convincing 5-1 winners over Waterloo 2 and the 5th team defeated Wallasey D 3-2.

After three defeats in a row, the Second Team are back to winning ways, defeating Atticus 3 by 6.5-1.5. Martin, Steve L, Dave, Steve G and Tony Mc all picked up wins with draws from Graham, Paul K and Alan Thomas.

Third Teams hopes dented

The Third Teams title challenge has suffered a blow as they went down to a heavy defeat away to Prescot. Dave Pearcey won on Board 1 but James, Phil, Rob and Paul all lost their games in a 4.5-1.5 reverse.
